I recently received an invitation to a Conference that indicated a "Business Casual" dress
code. What exactly does it mean?
When you go "Business Casual," you look professional and feel casual. Striking the right balance can be tricky: jeans, flip-flops
and tank tops are way too casual, while a suit with hose and heels is too formal. The Jockey Person to Person® collection
offers the ideal pieces to help you dress for this event.
Pair the modal blend pants with the wide-strap tank; top with the modern jacket. The modern boot leg pant in black looks beautiful
with the long sleeve u-neck - add the black modal cardigan for a swingy, comfortable look. Match the flowing modal skirt with the
v-neck and finish up with the newly-launched black blazer.
Many of these events go from day to evening; you'll be the envy of other attendees when you swiftly transform yourself for the
inevitable cocktail reception by donning the fun accessories (a chain belt, scarf, dressy clutch or blingy jewelry) you tucked into
your daytime tote.
What pieces should a large, apple-shaped woman wear to look her best?
The key to looking fabulous is balance. You can achieve this balance by minimizing the bottom and emphasizing the top. The
best way to do this is with a 'pop" of color on the top and black or navy on the bottom. Other tips:
- Wear a pant with some flare in the leg to balance the hip
- Make sure that your top is longer and does not end at the widest part of your hip.
- Favorite pieces from the collection include the modal blend pant, modern jacket and the v-neck.
- Wear your pants and jeans slightly longer and add a slight heel
Remember: it's all about proportion and balance!
What three colors would be striking to mix?
A more sophisticated - and striking - color mix is achieved by mixing colors from the same family. When you mix a midnight
blue, a lighter tone blue and soft blue, you create a monochromatic combination that is the perfect foil for your
favorite silver accessories. Another way to create an eye-catching color story is to team up 'pop" colors like a lighter
blue with a brown and add a touch of midnight blue or mix porcelain with plum and black. Or, just pick two shades that
complement each other and then add a pop color to spice it up.
Do we still aim for an hour-glass figure? What's the best way to do that with Jockey
Person to Person® product?
Absolutely! The hourglass look is desired by most women and is also very flattering. Jockey Person to PersonĀ® products achieve
that by adding princess seams and shape to the side seam as well as having contour waistbands in our bottoms. As our
products offer a more casual feel, we achieve this in a more relaxed fashion.
The best pieces in the collection to achieve this look would be the modern jacket, the modern boot leg pant and the pique polo
- all of which have shape in them. If you are blessed with an hourglass figure you would like to accentuate, I would
recommend belting your tops at the waist for instant "hourglass appeal."
